Taylor Swift

Aged 30 years old and born in West Reading, Pennsylvania, Taylor Swift is not one only one of America’s best-known pop stars but also the most charitable. According to Forbes, last year, Swift donated a total of $625,000 dollars to a variety of causes. These causes included Hands on Nashville, The Wyomissing and the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Also, the acclaimed singer contributed $100,000 towards rebuilding a children’s playground called Kids Kingdom.

Elton John

Having sold more than 300 million records, Sir Elton John is among the world’s best-selling music artists today. Thus, the fact he is one of Britain’s richest people is hardly surprising. Not only has Sir Elton spoken out on political issues such as Brexit, but he is a dedicated campaigner and philanthropist. Since the early nineties, following the deaths of Ryan White and Freddie Mercury, he has run the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Apart from that, in 2016, it is estimated that he donated $38 million to a variety of charitable causes.

Rihanna

The Barbadian singer, songwriter and actress has ruled atop the music industry since breaking on to the scene in 2003. In 2017, the singer turned businesswoman, setting up her own line of cosmetics under the banner of Fenty Beauty. Early on in her career, in 2006, Rihanna established the Believe Foundation for terminally ill children, donating proceeds from advertising and sponsorship of her concerts to the foundation. Also, in 2012, Rihanna founded the Clara Lionel Foundation named after her grandparents to support medical treatments and education in Barbados. A Diamond Ball fundraiser for the Believe Foundation generated $5 million.

Beyonce

Former Destiny’s Child lead singer Beyonce Knowles is undoubtedly the queen of the music industry. Among the richest musicians in the world, Beyonce has also led the most charitable list, year after year. In 2011, Beyonce supported Michelle Obama’s campaign against child obesity. She has also donated to other causes such as creative arts, women’s issues and raising awareness for abuse victims.
